Chi Omega is the largest women’s fraternal organization in the world. There are over 320,000 initiates and 174 collegiate chapters. By December 2014, there will be 177 collegiate chapters.
On April 5, 1895, our five founders started Chi Omega at the University of Arkansas. The fraternity was founded because of the need our founders saw in an organization that would foster friendship as well as respect the value of women. As Chi Omegas, we strive to live up to our six purposes:
- High Standards of Personnel
- Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship
- Participation in Campus Activities
- Career Development
- Community Service
Chi Omega believes in membership for a lifetime, so even after you graduate, you will be able to find an alumnae chapter to stay involved with. There are currently over 240 alumnae chapters across the nation.
